What we do

We are a socially guided translation company that partners and offers services to deliver project based human language access consulting and creative research.

What do we mean

Yei Tochtin means 3 rabbits in Nahuatl.

History

Initiated in 2020, at that time called Multiservicio Multiservice, Yei Tochtin stemmed out of an idea to try something new. We began interpreting for political events in person and online in NYC. Based on feedback we decided to provide services as a small business. We've enjoyed connecting ideas, meeting like minded people nationally and internationally.

To date we have worked with leading schools, philanthropic organizations, literary institutions and grassroots movements across the country from our base in New York state.

The team

Founder and creative director

Ali Toxtli is a public anthropologist with over 10 years working in areas of bike and pedestrian mobility, public health, food co-ops, public art and project administration.

Testimonials

We supported to make sure their materials connected to their target audience.

  •  "They delivered high quality translations and took the time to explain the “why” behind each revision to ensure that Spanish speakers from all over would be able to connect with our educational materials. We are grateful for their preparation and professionalism."

Sarah Lopez   |   Program Assistant

As they were planning their second conference we collaborated to handle withon site management of equipment and delivery of interpretation.

" Yei Tochtin has interpreted for Cornell Small Farms Program virtual and in-person educational events, including at a two-day event, the Northeast Latino/a/x Agricultural Community Conference in December 2024. They have excellent skill in Spanish-English and English-Spanish simultaneous interpretation in both virtual and in-person settings. Their precision in vocabulary, even when interpreting complicated technical matters, as well as matching a speaker's expressiveness and tone, are impressive and commendable. They have an ability to switch between languages flawlessly to facilitate conversation or question-and-answer sessions. They are flexible on the fly and have been gracious in mentoring less experienced interpreters during events. Yei Tochtin are committed to delivering the highest quality interpretation, and their preparation is unparalleled. We appreciate working with them."

Tim W. Shenk   |    Bilingual Communications Specialist

When approached by TONYC to think through language access for in person events we held creative communication to see their needs and goals.

"Yei Tochtin are true collaborators in making events accessible for our audiences. There is much care and communication in the planning and preparation as well as follow up after. I appreciate the smooth partnership and all the support and expertise Yei Tochtin provides!"

Harrow Sansom Choi   |   Operations Director

Our academic background comes in to bridge nuance and community efforts.

"It was such a pleasure working with Ali from start to finish. His commitment to making sure we were fully prepared to facilitate a cross-language space was critical to the success of our event at the Queens Museum. Ali is a true collaborator whose clear communication, quick responsiveness, and attention to detail when discussing the needs of our program and communities was so appreciated. Event attendees and staff alike shared that Ali's excellent language interpretation provided key support that empowered everyone to participate in the program. We were also grateful to have a debrief meeting with Ali after the event to reflect on how we can make improvements for the future."

  Lindsey Berfond  |  Assistant Curator

We flew to California to build food access connections.

"Working with Ali felt like having an experienced collaborator throughout the entire process. Our team was able to reflect and deepen our practice in incorporating Language Justice as an organization through Ali's guidance and support in planning our Community Advisory Board meeting. During the event, community members were able to engage fully and participate, and the interpretation services offered were well-received!"
