Purchasing language services can be confusing and we want to make sure you feel good in the process. We like to offer thorough and one on one support that will inform procurement guidelines, best use of budgets and center the listening experience for participants.
We practice exclusively in Spanish/English interpretation, translation and project development with a focus on initiatives that provide a social good. Climate, housing, cooperatives, immigration, agriculture, art - we've done that.
If you are a person looking for support in upcoming immigration interviews, an organization that wants to add language access to your events, or a project lead that wants help on how to build up grant proposals related to language inclusivity, we can help.
Ali Toxtli is a public anthropologist with over 10 years working in areas of bike and pedestrian mobility, public health, food co-ops, public art and project administration.
"It was such a pleasure working with Ali from start to finish. His commitment to making sure we were fully prepared to facilitate a cross-language space was critical to the success of our event at the Queens Museum. Ali is a true collaborator whose clear communication, quick responsiveness, and attention to detail when discussing the needs of our program and communities was so appreciated. Event attendees and staff alike shared that Ali's excellent language interpretation provided key support that empowered everyone to participate in the program. We were also grateful to have a debrief meeting with Ali after the event to reflect on how we can make improvements for the future."
Lindsey Berfond | Assistant Curator
"Working with Ali felt like having an experienced collaborator throughout the entire process. Our team was able to reflect and deepen our practice in incorporating Language Justice as an organization through Ali's guidance and support in planning our Community Advisory Board meeting. During the event, community members were able to engage fully and participate, and the interpretation services offered were well-received!"

We organize an intro call to get the full scope of the project, your goals, timeline and budget.
If we consider it a match we'll move forward.
We draw up an estimate based on what we discussed, send it over for your review.
From here we can agree and or negotiate, edit if need.
Once set we'll send over an agreement detailing what we landed on for your signature.
*In the event an agreement at any stage we'll be more than happy to recommend to a trusted colleague and or consider for another occasion.
We stem from a public anthropology framework that works to "demonstrate the ability of anthropology and anthropologists to effectively address problems beyond the discipline—illuminating larger social issues of our times as well as encouraging broad, public conversations about them with the explicit goal of fostering social change" (Borofsky 2004).
We've built that into our practice.

We use a rate model that's determined by your organizational and program budgets. That allows to determine a custom fit that reflects your work plans and goals.
The idea behind this is to be as much available for social efforts that unfortunately have no funds. We've seen a correlation with need of high quality interpretation/translation in underfunded, solidarity initiatives.
Projects could be offered a discounted or pro bono rate. Please email us for translation rates as they are different than the above.
Identifying base rates is the first step. Please get in touch to start that process.
We travel across the US for in person interpretation and collaborate internationally for translation-interpretation.
In person events can incur an additional cost but lets talk about it since there could be overlaps.
We work with clients to build up their efforts and knowledge of their audience. Estimates depend on event variables such as your internal multilingual management, budget, use of space and time.
We offer a intro call to learn more of what you're thinking.
